PINK HILL (2020), 75 min.

Leroy and Vye are suffocating in the small town of Pink Hill. To escape, they are counting on Vye’s art work to be accepted to a school in Paris. Their friend Charles has given up on life and has become a recluse; Leroy and Vye hope to help him get on his feet before they leave town. A charismatic model, Azalea, enters the story and they become caught up in jealousy and intrigue. While the characters are concerned with their personal lives the forces of nature are pushing them towards darkness, magic and isolation.

Combining elements of art-film, drama and comedy as well as theatre reminiscent of Tennessee Williams, this Southern Gothic tale can be categorized as Post-Underground. Highly atmospheric and lusciously shot in 16mm colour film, the images play a strong part in the telling of the story and will linger with you long after the film is over.
